We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Junior IT Engineer to support the installation and maintenance of infrastructure systems within the business to ensure maximum efficiencies and productivity at every level of the business.

Key Responsibilities Support the installation and maintenance of infrastructure systems. Testing and verifying infrastructure systems to ensure that that they operate appropriately and reliably. Connect and set up hardware as required.

Additional responsibilities Provide support for security and backup procedures of all technology and systems including Disaster Recovery. Preparation of hardware for disposal when appropriate, ensuring hardware is stripped and secured before disposal. Support upgrades of hardware. Keep up to date with new technology. Support housekeeping and maintenance procedures and putting them into operation. Maintain network accounts and passwords as required. Maintain IP addresses. Support the purchase of technology resources (principally hardware). Support secure network access and remote network access to all users within the business. Supporting the IT and wider teams where appropriate. Documentation of systems and of problem resolution. Maintenance of IT equipment across sites. Working with the IT team to stock control all company “IT” equipment, including issuing equipment to new starters and collecting from leavers. Providing user support, advice and feedback. Providing on-call support out of business hours.

About You

Essential Criteria

Qualifications Relevant IT qualification (e.g., CompTIA A+, Level 3 IT diploma, or equivalent).Evidence of continuing personal development in IT.

Experience 1–2 years’ experience in an IT support or junior infrastructure role.Hands on experience supporting: Windows 10/11 devicesMicrosoft 365 apps and basic administrationHardware builds, repairs, upgrades, imagingBasic account administration (password resets, permissions)Printers, scanners, mobile devicesExperience documenting work and following IT procedures.

Knowledge & Technical Skills Good working knowledge of: Windows 11 workstation supportWindows Server (basic admin: users, groups, shares, permissions)Networking fundamentals (DHCP, DNS, IP addressing, WiFi)Hardware support (laptops/servers)Backup systems (ideally knowledge of recovery concepts)Familiarity with cybersecurity practices (phishing reporting, endpoint protection).Ability to troubleshoot: Network connectivityPrinter and label printing issuesApplication installation and updatesWillingness and ability to learn and support: SQL Server databasesERP, WMS and middleware systemsLabel printingBackup concepts and processesFirewalls and network equipment

Qualifications Microsoft certifications.Networking certifications.SQL or database related courses.

Experience Experience working in manufacturing or production environments.Exposure to ERP systems (ideally SYSPRO) or WMS systems.Working with IT asset management.

Knowledge & Technical Skills Basic knowledge of: SQL queries or database administrationWiFi and VLANsMiddleware platforms (DataSwitch or similar)
