As part of the Supply Chain Planning Team, you will work alongside our dedicated team of planners and will be responsible for ensuring all site planning processes are completed and resources required to support production are available. In a fast-paced and fast-changing environment you will work cross-functionally to manage the flow of information & materials that are necessary to deliver the plan efficiently and satisfy our customers.

Our production planners take on the responsibility of the day to day running of the department to ensure all tasks are completed in full each day.  You will look at the medium to long term demand plan and work with our Sales team on forecasting.

With the supportive of the Supply Chain Manager, you can expect to be challenged daily, providing ample opportunity to learn and develop both professionally and personally. Supporting the delivery of key projects and Continuous Improvement programmes. Sharing best practices with other team members and colleagues to improve line utilisation, yield, quality and CRS targets.

 

Skills & Essentials:

 

  • Prior experience in a fast-paced high-volume supply chain operation
  • Knowledge and understanding of ERP systems and processes (SAP-APO, SAP-IBP knowledge an advantage)
  • Ability to maintain and make sound, timely decisions, without losing sight of the bigger picture
  • A natural networker, building and sustaining a range of working relationships across multiple functions and levels with ease
  • Great organisation skills and strong attention to detail. Ability to make critical decisions within a fast-paced environment.
  • A pro-active, flexible team player and with several years’ experience in two or more supply chain functions, ideally within an FMCG industry
  • Highly organised with good attention to detail
  • Good communication skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders within the business
  • Experience with Data Modelling techniques
  • Must be highly process driven with the tenacity to problem solve and deliver key messages through facts and data
  • Strong understanding of inventory management systems
  • Generate production plans for effective and efficient manufacture across Bradbury’s business
  • Maintain the highest levels of customer service
  • Use continuous improvement to look for increased efficiency
  • Liaise with supply chain team to ensure cross functional resilience
  • Provide clear communications of plans and changes to them
  • Manage stock levels to ensure optimum balance between customer service and minimised waste
  • Manage the production planning cycle
  • Provide cover in other areas of the business when required to do so.
  • Manage purchase orders and supplier deliveries to ensure the timely delivery of materials
  • Maintain appropriate relationships with suppliers to ensure variations can be managed
  • Proactively react to changes in demand with suppliers
  • Manage supplier issues regarding availability using appropriate escalation when required
  • Manage stock levels to ensure optimum balance between customer service and minimised waste
  • Liaise with transport to ensure optimisation of inbound freight costs
  • Liaise with demand planning team to ensure understanding and variability of forward requirements
  • Liaise with production planning to ensure transparent communication between all supply chain functions.
  • Develop opportunities for continuous improvement across the material scheduling function

Production Shift Manager Vacancy

We are looking to a recruit a self-motivated individual, who would like to join our Production Team as a Production Shift Manager.
Previous experience of working as Production Managers in FMCG is essential. The position is full time, onsite and working rotating shifts.

The Candidate:
Ideally the candidate will be a self-starting, motivated individual with great organisational skills, a good eye for detail and experience in reporting on key production metrics. Problem solving and fantastic written and verbal communication will be critical. You will be working within a team and whilst you will have your separate responsibilities, shift and production lines you will also be required to support other production areas within the business. Therefore, as an individual you need to be proactive and hands on – driven by a desire to ensure that all key tasks and responsibilities are fulfilled and that the best possible results are achieved for both customers and internal stakeholders.   Bradburys is a fast-paced environment so being able to respond with speed, confidence and clarity will be a necessity.

The Role:

  • Key member of the Management Team reporting to the Site Production Manager
  • To comply with Health & Safety legislation in line with company policies.
  • To effectively manage day-to-day factory operations & to ensure all manufacturing performance KPIs are achieved in line with company procedures.
  • Key interaction with all disciplines across site in conjunction with delivering factory performance.
  • To drive & support the site in strategic initiatives to move the business forward in a positive robust manner


Duties will include: –

This is not an exhaustive list, and the role will require you to accept additional responsibilities when required:

  • To actively promote a health and safety culture within the department to ensure that all requirements are met and continuously identifying areas for improvement.
  • To provide direction and support to the line leaders, managing and facilitating their performance and development and ensuring departmental structure and skills are developed to meet changing requirements.
  • Control labour recovery and material (WIP) at costed levels and corrective actions for such anomalies
  • To deliver the planned qty by product, by line and by shift on time and in full
  • Ensure that a high level of hygiene and housekeeping standards are maintained throughout
  • Ensure all disciplinary and absence management issues in the department are managed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Develop communication between and within shifts and departments
  • Accountable for department shift labour and key skills within the department
  • To take the lead for the Site Production Manager in their absence
  • Ensure lines are running, prioritising to make sure 100% service levels are met for outload.
  • Strict adherence to the production plan, raise any concerns immediately either with the planning department or your line manager
  • Liaising with all other departments such as H&S, Goods In, Dispatch, Engineering, Technical & HR to ensure a functional working relationship

Ensure performance standards are met in respect of:

  • H&S – Accident Investigations to be completed within 24 hours.
  • Supply Chain – Run in sequential order as agreed by planning and production
  • Cost Control – Overall control and management of labour recovery and WIP consumption
  • Line Efficiencies – Run all lines to the specified run rates, with controlled emphasis on labour recovery by product and WIP control to ensure there are zero negative trends
  • Quality – Right first-time initiative, within specification and legally binding
  • GMP – Areas are clean, tidy and in control
  • People – Attendance control, factory skills, forward planning with deployment skills & training plans

 

Demonstrate effective cost control within the area of responsibility through:

  • Effective use of labour utilisation
  • Material usage – WIP Controls: Waste (materials / packaging) & product giveaway
  • Waste reduction – Realtime control line utilisation (People, Process & Product)

 

Qualifications, Experience & Skills required:

  • ILM level 4 in Leadership & Management
  • HACCP Level 3 food safety management

Experience of leading teams to ensure business objectives are met timeously

  • Able to drive results in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge and experience of driving improvement within area / department
  • Ability to coach direct and indirect reports
  • Strong leader who leads by example
  • Excellent communication / engagement skills
  • Self-motivated and highly resilient
